Foreword
Belize. To most that have never been, the name invokes images of Paradise, whatever Paradise means. Over 10,000 people; mostly from North America and Europe; add to the local population and call this little country home. To many of those, it absolutely does define Paradise Living. But this paradise also has an underbelly.

Dogs, Puppies and the occasional Kitten
In every group of puppies there is one who always putters off in the wrong direction, and one who constantly complains. The latest batch decided to economize, and have one puppy doing both jobs.

Bad Weather
This weather calls for Plan B: Change into warm and fuzzy clothes, make hot tea, watch movie. Do outdoor activities later, tomorrow, whenever… It’s cold! And the puppy ate the tassels off my chenille blanket. How am I ever going to make it through the winter?!

Chickens, Pigeons and the occasional Snake
Some chicken is screaming bloody murder. I race out there expecting to find a bird with missing body parts or some such disaster. Not a feather bent. Just sitting on her perch screaming. Do chickens have nightmares too?

Scorpions
Some days one just does not need a cup of coffee to wake up. The scorpion dropping into the tub with me from my washrag woke me right up.

Miscellaneous Musings
Google auto-fill on internet searches. I start out: "Great Dane will not" and Google fills in "lay eggs". So… people really ask that question??
